Cempedak

Saturday

Freshly boiled cempedak seeds

It's the local fruits season now! The "Cempedak" is a close relative of the jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus). While the jackfruit is native to India, the cempedak is native to Malaysia, Borneo, Sumatra and the Sulawesi Islands. Not only the fruit can be eaten, its seeds are not to be spared. Best eaten roasted or boiled.

Perfect with a cup of coffee..MMmmMmmm.
